Open Days

Open Days and Disco Days (Discover Homeopathy Day) are the two events that bring members of the public into the college and it’s always so fascinating to see who walks through the door and to hear what they tell us about their journey towards homeopathy.

It’s equally exciting to meet people who have been happily and confidently using homeopathy for many years for themselves and family as well as those who know nothing of it and have suddenly become intrigued and curious. All are welcome and we always have a diverse mix of applicants – so enriching for the college.

We hold our Open Days each year in April, May and June so that prospective applicants can come and find out what it is we do and how. They arrive needing to know about the curriculum, fees and assignments, study hours and casework (which we provide clear guidance on) and suddenly find themselves immersed in a vibrant, warm and welcoming (chatty and noisy) community! I think it’s this aspect that really impacts on our visitors. When our students reach out to them, interested in who they are and wanting to connect, and when they feel that energy and enthusiasm bubbling around the whole building they become increasingly excited about the chance to tap into that for their own learning, development and potential.

Open Days are hosted by our Principal Andrene, myself, Ffranses (Board member, senior lecturer, marker and supervisor) and Rosie who (as well as being a lecturer) provides Pastoral Support to all our students. We explain all you need to know about the curriculum each year and how student progress is assessed (homework and casework – no exams!), fees and other costs to budget for, the support in place for helping students navigate their way through college including our team of supervisors who guide students through casework and clinic attendance. After a chatty lunch and a chance to speak with students and lecturers we also invite visitors to attend a lecture with our current Year 1 students. Getting a taste of how we teach and what it feels to learn and take part in lectures is a great way of testing the waters for whether you are ready to embark on your training (ten weekends a year for four years).

Homeopathy is part science, part art. Its also often magical and meaningful. When you encounter that for the first time it is truly life-changing and our Open Days are the perfect opportunity for us to convey, person to person, our passion and commitment to delivering the highest standard of training possible.

The world needs more homeopaths and we see more and more people coming through our doors who are keen to make that happen.
