Working as a homeopath and helping others can be enormously rewarding. Homeopathy is an enriching and flexible career choice and you will see people with a wide range of health issues.
Below you will find ten short movies of homeopaths, each is filmed in their different clinical settings giving a good feel of what it is like to run your own practice.
What kind of homeopath will you be?
Homeopaths tend to work for themselves and choose their working hours and clinic set up to fit their lifestyles. If you are a busy mum, you might want to work from a dedicated clinic space in your own home during school hours. Other homeopaths may choose to work in clinics alongside other alternative and complementary therapy practitioners. Some homeopaths will offer home visits for patients who would find it difficult to attend a clinic.
How much do homeopaths earn?
As a self-employed homeopath, your income depends on the number of patients you see and the amount of time you dedicate to your practise. Homeopaths tend to charge between £40 and £90 for appointments, which vary in length between 1 to 2 hours. You get paid per session and so initially your income may be small but it will increase over time as you gain in confidence and develop your reputation.
A recent graduate scenario: If you charged £50 per session and saw 4 people a week, for 48 weeks a year, you would earn £9,600 before tax.
A more experienced practitioner scenario: If you charged £80 per session and saw 4 people a day, 3 days a week, for 48 weeks a year, you would earn £46,000 before tax.
