Mel Downing
Senior lecturer, Personal & Clinical Supervisor, Materia Medica, Philosophy and Practice Management
19 years clinical experience in the UK. I love sharing my passion for Homeopathy and the diverse way Homeopathic philosophy is part of life. When teaching Materia Medica I really enjoy finding the character in the remedies and showing them in ways that are memorable and alive.
I am truly delighted to be part of the teaching staff at the North West College of Homeopathy. I look forward to college weekends in the same way as I did when I was first a student. Being part of such a vibrant community is exciting and affirms the strong future of Homeopathy.
The Rumi quote, “We’re all just walking each other home”, feels to me to encompass the power of the homeopathic journey with the healer, teacher and hero’s journey.
Background:
Mel trained as a Homeopath after a career as a Theatre Stage Manager where she met some fascinating characters. Her first job was as a trainee computer programmer where she quickly realised she prefers people to machines.
