Position: Lead Director
North West College of Homeopathy
Potential income of £16,000, average 20 hours per week.
The North West College of Homeopathy is a social enterprise, a non profit making organisation with a leadership team of volunteers (the Board).
The College is looking for a new Lead Director to join its vibrant team. The role involves working closely with the Board, primarily focusing on responsibility for education and training quality, governance, student and staff relations, marketing, recruitment, finance and all aspects of managing an evolving social enterprise.
The College is thriving and the new Director will step into a very a stable and positive moment in its history. We have a lovely new building, a great team of lecturers, clinicians and supervisors, and student recruitment has been consistently good for the past few years.
The new Director will assist the Board in consolidating and bedding-in the many changes that have come about through an intense period of growth and development over the past 3 years. They will assist in developing vision and plans for the future and will take the lead in most executive functions.
The Contract is offered on a self employed basis for one year with a view to renewing this annually.
Whilst experience in education is desirable, the critical responsibilities of governance, co ordinating management, future planning and promotion may have been gained in business or charitable organisations. The new Director will need to fully understand the complexity of the political climate in which our profession finds itself.
This opportunity arises due to the current director Zoe Holden wanting more creative space in her life. Zoe will be fully involved in handing over the role in a planned and supportive way during the remainder of this academic year. She will remain closely involved in the College as a lecturer and on the Board of Directors.
It is expected that the Lead Director will become a shareholder in the College in order to become a full member of the Board of Directors (to be discussed prior to interview).
