AGM/Graduation Ceremony - a personal testimony
Hello one and all
What a great night was had by all at the combined 2nd AGM and Graduation of the class of 2005 plus.
It was super to see so many familiar faces from the world of Homeopathy; 1st year students through to 4th years – lecturers past and present, Directors, Principals from days gone by and patients and provers, even babies born during studies! A truly diverse tapestry reflecting the richness of the fabric of NWCH.
Of course to add to the inner community there were the very important outer network of family and friends who support and nourish the very grassroots of Homeopathic Education; they were all there in their finery and high spirits; proud and at times tearful, but always joyful. Sharing food, good times and dance.
The band did us the honour of playing superbly, their very last gig! They were Band Age who gigged for the 2004 Alumni at their Graduation, and as the bass player was Renate’s husband we were lucky enough to book them.
At previous Graduations I’ve seen students and staff doing ‘turns’ and stand-ups; memorable musicians wowing the crowd on guitars! I’ve danced a ceildh and gigged, but my favourite was my Graduation. To be applauded by my peers and have my studies acknowledged in the Homeopathic Community collectively with my class was the ultimate compliment.
As my partner said, “It’s truly amazing that in this day and age of commercialisation and materialism you know so many people who think outside the box, what a great community that you belong to, so many friends who think differently, all with the aim of healing others.”
And I thought; ‘Yes, it’s very unusual to belong to a diverse community who dare to be wise’.
