I have been in practice in Leeds and Boston Spa, West Yorkshire, since
1990 and have been teaching homoeopathy in colleges since 1994.
In life before homoeopathy (was there actually one!) I taught health studies and biological sciences to adults and children. Previous to that I was a research biochemist where I worked in a team investigation heart disease and other issues.
After doing some short courses I did my professional training at the North West and Manchester Colleges.
My main areas of interest in homoeopathy are practical philosophy and clinical practice. I believe it is impossible to teach and learn one without the other. My sessions are therefore interactive with lots of practical cases examples to illustrate how the philosophy works. I am also developing some ideas about remedy relationships and how remedies can disguise themselves. I often use video illustrations and music in my teaching.
I do regular CPD. I have studied with George Vithoulkas, Sheila Creasy, Rajan Sankaran, Madeline Evans and others. I am a founder member of Health for Children, a group offering low cost treatment to children of families on benefits. I currently run two study groups for practitioners. Several of my articles and book reviews have been published in The Homeopath and Homeopathic Links journals. I have also trained in personal supervision and supervise students and practitioners. I am the northern coordinator for the Travelling Homeopaths Collective where I supervise acute treatment at festivals in the summer.
If I ever feel jaded I go to paragraph 9 in the Organon – check it out!
